Health & Wellness Coaching
Health and Wellness Coaching (HWC) uses evidenced-based techniques (i.e. motivational interviewing, positive psychology) to promote behavior change and cultivate a healthier lifestyle. Coaches collaborate with clients to identify areas of growth, form goals, overcome barriers, and build a lifestyle that meets their sense of purpose. HWC is not therapy/counseling. HWC focuses on setting and achieving goals, while therapy focuses on mental and emotional healing. HWC is a great option for individuals looking to improve their overall well-being. Folks can sign-up for HWC to improve/manage any area related to their health and well-being. Areas of focus include, but are not limited to:
– Study habits
– Physical activity
– Healthy eating
– Safer sex
– Substance use
The Pride Center of Terre Haute HWC program consists of:
– A simple assessment to explore individuals’ goals, motivations, and vision on their future self.
– Weekly 25 minute sessions to review goal progress, explore options, develop strategies for overcoming obstacles, and create an action plan.
– Ongoing support and accountability from the Coach. We provide individuals with support until their goals are met, their wellness is enhanced, and they have a satisfying sense of accomplishment.
